The Rock
On the way back to Auckland we came across this bluff. It's the second time we've passed it; there is nothing like it around. The rock juts out of the landscape like some sort of ancient monument. The whole scene is quite impressive.
It's bordered by a river and surrounded by a forest.
We followed a really lovely track through the woods that we found along side the river, opposite the bluff.
I would love to have had a kayak...

Stunning, breathtaking.......
"When I, in awesome wonder, consider all Thy hands have made"...........
"then sings my soul, oh Lord, how great Thou art!".
Really beautiful. You can just sense how calm it was there by the water. You can have a kayak. I'd rather have a book and a chair right on the water's edge. Hope you are doing well...

Reminds me of Devil's Tower in Wyoming. That's the one used to film "Close Encounters..." It doesn't have a river around it. That is way cool. Can't get over how beautiful that country is. Those hiking trails have been just
awesome all along. Also the story on the geothermal stuff was great, very interesting indeed.
